PhD English (Linguistics)

PhD English linguistics has been imagined as a full-time programme intended to hone the research skills of its scholars and turn them into expert researchers capable of producing scholarship and criticism of the highest level. The programme is also meant to give the scholars intense exposure to their chosen fields of study/research to make them experts in their chosen fields of study. This theoretical knowledge backed by practical skills of research is likely to yield good dividends in the form of proficient researchers.

Program Objectives

The key aims and objectives of the PhD English programme are to:

  • Equip the scholars with the theoretical and practical knowledge of research and advanced concepts in their chosen field to enable them to become experts in the selected areas
  • Enable the scholars to pursue independent research in their fields
  • Enable the scholars to supervise research work in their areas

Program Output Evaluation

Assessment of the students for each course (other than dissertation) in the PhD programme will be carried out according to the following formula.
