The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is playing a leading role in fulfilling the FUI’s mission of achieving excellence in research and innovation. Our MS and PhD programmes in media studies, English Literature, English Linguistics, and Psychology are equipping scholars with the latest knowledge in the field and providing them guidance to innovate through research. With an increasing number of PhD graduates, we are becoming prouder of our contribution to the mission of promoting research.
The most distinguishing feature of the faculty is the student experience. Our lively faculty culture that blends learning, grooming and life-skills development creates an environment for success. In-class teaching is built on strong interpersonal bonds and a relationship of mutual trust to delve into the key issues in the field with an eye on the contemporary trends and the practical applications of the knowledge. The peer-like bond sees students and faculty engage outside the classroom to discuss any issues related to their chosen field or the world they live in. This interaction helps groom the students and inculcate a spirit of inquiry, criticality, and tolerance towards different views. Our experienced, devoted, and accessible faculty members do not just teach content, they prepare their students for whatever way the future may test them in.
A big part of the student experience at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is the vibrant life that the faculty offers them through clubs, societies, competitions, fairs and trips. We value the students’ mental well-being and have an on-site psychology clinic to offer students professional help for their psychological issues.
We look forward to welcoming curious minds within the folds of our inclusive community devoted to exploring arts, humanities and social sciences for an impactful contribution to the community.
