Dr. Muhammad Ilyas Bhatti is a Head of Department in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, Foundation University School of Science and Technology (FUSST) Rawalpindi. He has extensive experience in the field of cultural heritage, tourism, archaeology, and anthropology, He has also published a significant number of articles in the area of tourism destination, archaeology, museology and cultural heritage in prestigious HEC approved journals. Before joining the Foundation University, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He has performed curatorial duties in various museums in Pakistan, National Museum of Pakistan, Banbhore Museum, Taxila Museum, Lahore Fort Museum and Allama Iqbal Museum. He was Project Director of Katas Raj Temples located in district Chakwal near Kalar Kahar. He served more than two decades in the ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of Pakistan. He is an author of books on cultural heritage of Pakistan. He got trained from various countries in the field of tourism, museology, conservation, restoration, and preservation of cultural heritage from various countries i.e. United State of America, Japan, Germany, England, France and others. He has delivered lectures on cultural heritage of Pakistan and Religious Tourism in national and international conferences.
